People who take hallucinogen mushrooms, like psilocybin and psilocin, experience feelings of euphoria and relief from some mental health conditions. But the drugs can also cause anxiety, fear and muscle twitches along with increased heart rate and blood pressure. Using the drugs with alcohol or other drugs increases the risk of serious side effects, including rhabdomyolysis, kidney failure and encephalopathy. The mushroom-related substances can also trigger “bad trips” with flashbacks of previous experiences.
Strong Magic Mushrooms Online may contain varying concentrations of the active chemicals, and this can affect the drugs’ effect. Buying online can also expose users to a wider range of contaminants, including synthetic tryptamines that mimic the psychoactive properties of psychedelic mushrooms.

For example, a lab-made compound called 4-acetoxy-dimethyltryptamine (4-AcO-DMT) can be used as a substitute for psilocybin in some mushroom products. It doesn’t have the earthy taste that psilocybin has and it can be mixed into larger batches more easily than psilocybin. The compound is also more cost-effective for manufacturers, Garrett says.
But some makers of mushroom candy and chocolate are misleading consumers by marketing their products as containing psilocybin when they actually contain Amanita muscaria. These products should be clearly labeled as containing Amanita muscaria and not be sold as psilocybin. That way, users can choose whether to eat them or not. “Eating Amanita muscaria is not the same as taking psilocybin, and it can have very dangerous consequences,” says drug expert Eric Leas. His team at the harm-reduction website Dance Safe recommends people seeking psilocybin or psilocin take only the mushroom products labeled as such by independent laboratories.
